The Department of Finance Services and Innovation sought comments, feedback and ideas on how to improve the workers compensation dispute resolution process in NSW.

  • The Issue

    Consultation period: 20/12/2017 9:00 am to 16/02/2018 5:00 pm

We are seeking feedback and ideas on how to improve the dispute resolution system to achieve the Government’s aspiration of a workers compensation system that:

    • prevents disputes and helps the parties reach agreement and resolve issues earlier
    • supports claimants throughout the process to help them to return to work and good health.

We have prepared a discussion paper that includes proposals to improve the current system by:

    • delivering a ‘one stop shop’ for resolving disputes
    • focusing more on dispute prevention
    • implementing other system improvements.

Please read the discussion paper then use our online form below to provide your feedback. You can also read a short summary of the paper.

  • Milestones

    • Wednesday 20 December: Consultation opens
    • Friday 16 February: Opportunity to provide feedback finishes
    • From Saturday 17 February: Government considers feedback
  • Outcomes
